Adidas Dame Basketball Shoes
We designed the Adidas Dame basketball shoes in partnership with Damian Lillard to deliver explosive first-step quickness and lockdown ankle support for guards who control the tempo. The Bounce Pro midsole provides responsive cushioning that converts impact into energy return, while the extended heel counter wraps your foot for stability during rapid direction changes.
Built for the modern point guard’s game, these shoes feature a low-profile silhouette that doesn’t sacrifice support. The forefoot flex grooves allow natural toe-off movement, and the herringbone traction pattern grips hardwood and synthetic courts equally well during crossovers and pull-up jumpers.
Dame Series Technology & Performance Specs

Bounce Pro Cushioning Technology
The Eastbay Dame features Adidas’ Bounce Pro midsole system, which combines lightweight foam with responsive rebound properties. This cushioning platform absorbs impact during jumps and landings while returning energy to fuel your next movement.
Unlike traditional EVA foam that compresses over time, Bounce Pro maintains its responsiveness through hundreds of court sessions. The midsole geometry places slightly firmer foam under the heel for landing stability, with softer foam under the forefoot to enhance push-off power during drives to the basket.

Upper Materials & Lockdown Fit
The engineered mesh upper balances breathability with structural support through strategic reinforcement placement. High-wear areas around the toe box and lateral sidewalls feature double-layer mesh with welded TPU overlays, while the vamp and collar use single-layer mesh for ventilation.
Our internal bootie construction wraps your midfoot like a second skin, working with the traditional lacing system to eliminate heel slip. The asymmetric collar padding follows your ankle’s natural contours, providing cushioned contact points without restricting flexion during quick directional changes.
Traction Pattern & Outsole Durability
We equipped the Eastbay Dame with a modified herringbone traction pattern that prioritizes multi-directional grip. The outsole features tighter pattern spacing under the ball of the foot for rotational traction during pivots, with wider spacing under the heel for linear braking power.
The rubber compound balances grip and durability—soft enough to bite into dusty courts but firm enough to resist premature wear. Full-coverage rubber extends from heel to toe with no exposed midsole foam, protecting the cushioning layer from court abrasion.

Common Questions About Adidas Dame Shoes
Yes, expect 5-10 hours of court time for the shoes to fully conform to your feet. The engineered mesh upper will relax around your forefoot, and the flex grooves will soften for more natural toe-off movement.
The heel counter will also mold to your ankle shape during this period. Initial stiffness is normal and protects the shoe’s structural integrity during shipping and storage.
The herringbone outsole performs optimally on indoor hardwood and synthetic courts. The 3mm tread depth and rubber compound are designed for the fine dust encountered in gym environments.
For outdoor courts, traction remains effective but the shallower tread may collect heavier debris. Wiping the outsole between games maintains grip consistency on outdoor surfaces.
The Eastbay Dame runs true to standard US men’s sizing, consistent with other Adidas basketball models. The internal bootie creates a snug midfoot fit, while the toe box offers adequate room for natural toe splay.
Players with wide feet should consider ordering a half size up. The medium-width last suits average foot shapes best, and the engineered mesh upper will stretch slightly during the break-in period.
Yes, the low-profile collar design accommodates most slim ankle braces and support sleeves. The internal bootie construction sits low enough that braces fit over it without creating pressure points.
We recommend trying your brace with the shoes before game use to ensure comfortable fit. Bulkier lace-up braces may require going up a half size for adequate room.
The compression-molded Bounce Pro foam typically maintains performance characteristics for 300-400 hours of court time. This translates to 6-12 months for players who use the shoes 3-4 times weekly.
Rotating between two pairs extends each pair’s lifespan by allowing 24 hours for the foam to fully decompress between wears. Proper storage away from heat and sunlight also preserves cushioning properties.
Use a soft brush with mild soap and warm water to clean the mesh after every 3-4 court sessions. Gently scrub in circular motions to lift embedded dust without damaging the fabric weave.
Avoid machine washing, which can delaminate the TPU overlays and compress the midsole foam. Air dry at room temperature, stuffing the toe box with paper to help the upper maintain its shape.
While designed primarily for indoor courts, the Eastbay Dame can handle occasional outdoor use. The full-coverage rubber outsole protects the midsole from abrasion on concrete and asphalt surfaces.
However, the shallower tread depth and softer rubber compound will wear faster on rough outdoor courts compared to dedicated outdoor basketball shoes. Reserve these for indoor play to maximize their performance lifespan.
